Casinos in Croatia
Gambling is legal in Croatia, and casinos are easy to come by. Many Croatian casinos cater to tourists, and are located in Western-style hotels either in Zagreb, or in the country's seaside resort areas, where tourism has been steadily increasing during the last few years. Gambling tourism is a large market in Croatia, and these large casinos take advantage of the demand.

Croatian casinos are typically very similar to Vegas casinos, but on a much smaller scale. They run regular sit-in tournaments, and often offer a bar, restaurant, and live entertainment, especially on weekends. Casino attendance has greatly increased during the last few years, especially since EasyJet and RyanAir have introduced routes to Croatia.

Online Casinos in Croatia
Online casinos, on the other hand, are not booming in Croatia. In 2002, Casino Solei, one of Croatia's largest land-based casinos, opened an internet casino with a license from Coasta Rica. The site used Playtech software. It did not last more than a few years, however, and has been closed since 2005. Most other large casinos in Croatia have websites, but none currently offer online casino games.

Because of this lack of Croatian internet casinos, players in Croatia must play at sites located in other countries. Most of these are international, and are offered in English, German, and other major languages. A few large sites do have versions specifically for Croatians, but these are few in number. Eventually, online gambling in Croatia will become more popular, and the number of sites will increase.
