Bingo in Italy
Bingo was born in Italy. The roots of the game can be traced back to the 1530s, to a game called Lo Giuoco del Lotto d'Italia. That game was more of a lottery – it was adopted into its current form after it reached America many centuries later. Surprisingly, the game is not as popular as it is in the US and UK, though it certainly has its place in Italian society.
